Next Mobile Prosta Spółka Akcyjna has received a grant from the European Union for the project titled “Development of an innovative cybersecurity platform utilizing machine learning to detect and report irregularities and fraud attempts in telecommunications networks in real time, based on the analysis of data from voice calls and text messages.”
The project involves carrying out R&D activities in the ICT/cybersecurity sector and implementing them through the acquisition of necessary network infrastructure. The aim of the work is to develop a world-class digital innovation: an advanced telecommunication protection system focused on combating spoofing-related fraud, particularly vishing and smishing. These fraud methods target data theft using voice calls and text messages, and currently, there are no effective solutions to address them. The proposed solution, based on machine learning technology, will operate at the telecommunications network level without requiring user intervention.
The algorithms will independently identify and respond to fraud attempts while adapting to the evolving tactics of cybercriminals, ensuring continuous protection for customers.
The project addresses the growing issue of cybercrime in telecommunications networks, which significantly impacts financial institutions (banks, insurance companies, e-commerce sectors, etc.) and their customers. Statistics indicate that 54% of all attacks target the financial sector. The project’s innovation lies in significantly improving the efficiency and speed of detecting fraud incidents such as vishing and smishing (real-time operation). The implementation of this investment will reduce economic losses and enhance the cybersecurity of all telecommunications network users.
